I didn’t want to highlight a specific vlogger this week, I was more interested in talking about the vlog phenomena itself and how it is affecting audiences across the globe.
The upcoming vlog documentary “I’m Vlogging Here” created by youtubers is sure to make waves . This film is not created to garner the attention of only the YouTube audience but those outside of the vlogosphere who have yet to learn about the impact vlogging is having on our world in relation to digital communication intersecting with real life emotion.
Interestingly enough, the film was funded through Indiegogo, an entirely crowdbased and digital funding platform.
The “vlogumentary” is directed by Corey Vidal and executively produced by Shay Carl, both shining stars and ultimately trailblazers in the vlogging world. Both’s credentials as well as their rise from everyday person to “professional YouTuber” makes them the perfect candidates to share the growing vlogging trend with the entire world.
As seen in the trailer, viewers lives are ultimately touched by the vlogs they choose to follow. The interactive aspect of vlogging allows for the audience to directly interact with their favorite vloggers through social media platforms as well as the YouTube response section itself.
In my opinion, viewers and vloggers feel extremely passionate towards vlogging because of the “human” element it conveys. Vlogs feature real people living real lives. Viewers can then respond and interact with their favorite vloggers via video responses or text responses. The stronger connection lays in the visual aspect of vlogging which is something that doesn’t come through in standard text/picture blogs.
Vlogging is a personal experience for both the creater and the audience. The content is thus relatable to its audience on a greater level than movies or television shows because vlogs feature “real people doing real things”.
Vlogs provide an outlet for those seeking entertainment or an escape. As long as one has access to the internet, YouTube and other video hosting websites, the content is free and readily available.
Vlogs provide a window into the world of others across the globe. It is simple to watch a vlog, create your own vlog and interact with others that share similar passions which is what makes the entire phenomena such as success.
